Does paintball paint wash out?
What should I wear?
Wear old clothing or dedicated paintball gear that you don't mind getting dirty, along with sturdy shoes. Long sleeves and loose-fitting clothing help cushion hits. You can also hire extra protection, such as gloves and neck protectors, from us.
Can you play paintball if you're under 18?
No. You must be 18 or over to play paintball at our venue. Paintball markers fall under German weapons legislation in the category covering compressed-air, spring-powered and CO₂ weapons. You must bring ID, which will be checked on site. We cannot make exceptions, even with parental or guardian consent. If you're under 18, laser tag offers a gentler alternative without paintball projectiles.
How long does a round last, and how many paintballs do I need?
The number of paintballs you need depends on how long you play and your playing style. Paintball is fast-paced: a round ends when every player on one team has been hit, so you'll play several rounds during your visit. As a guide, allow around 500 paintballs per player for one hour. You can always buy more if needed.
What is a marker?
A marker is the device used to fire paintballs. These markers have an energy of 7.5 joules and use compressed air to fire paintballs at speeds of up to 235 km/h over a distance of around 50 metres.
Can I wear glasses while playing paintball?
You can usually wear glasses under a paintball mask, but they may mist up quickly. If possible, playing without glasses or wearing contact lenses can be easier.
Do we need ID to play paintball?
You must bring your ID card. No ID, no play.
What are the rules about alcohol and paintball?
Please note that Alma Park has a strict zero-alcohol rule for paintball. Our stag and hen party packages include a drink, so if you've booked one, your first beer in the sports bar after paintball is on us.
Will we be on our own when playing paintball?
Several groups may be playing paintball and will take turns on the fields. If you prefer, you can play only against people in your own group.
What Is Paintball?
What do you actually do in paintball, and is it a sport? Paintball is a team sport that first attracted attention in the USA in the 1940s. It can be played outdoors as woodland paintball or indoors. The basic format is simple: players usually form two teams, each starting from its own base. The field contains cover and obstacles where you can hide from the opposing team and approach their base without being spotted. The aim is either to eliminate all opposing players or reach their base. A player is eliminated when an opponent's paintball hits them and leaves a visible mark.
What Should I Wear for Paintball?
Paintballs contain coloured food dye, so playing can get messy. Wear old clothing that can get dirty, preferably with long sleeves, and sturdy shoes. If you've decided to play spontaneously and haven't brought suitable clothing or a change of clothes, disposable overalls are available to buy on site.
We provide the equipment you need, including a face mask and marker. You may also bring your own paintball equipment, but please note that you cannot use your own paintballs at our venue.
Does Getting Hit by a Paintball Hurt?
“Does paintball hurt?” and “Is paintball dangerous?” are two of our most common questions. A hit can hurt at first, although the discomfort usually fades quickly. How much it hurts depends on your sensitivity to pain, the thickness of your clothing, the temperature and the distance the shot travels. Always follow the safety instructions. We provide a mask to protect your face, especially your eyes, and you MUST wear it whenever you enter the playing field.
