On a sunny Saturday morning, I headed to Alma Park in Gelsenkirchen with a few friends. We had heard about its UV and adventure mini golf and were curious to try it. None of us had played anything quite like it before.
Arriving at Alma Park
A friendly member of staff welcomed us and explained how the mini golf worked and what to expect in the UV area. After collecting our clubs and balls, we made our way to the first hole.
Adventure mini golf
Our first impression was striking: traditional mini golf mixed with an adventure course, complete with water hazards, sand bunkers and small hills.
One memorable hole took the ball across an artificial pond. We needed just the right amount of force to keep it out of the water. Another led through a rock wall, bringing us into the next part of the course.
UV mini golf
Next, we continued into the UV mini golf area. The room was dark, with the courses glowing in neon colours. Fluorescent murals transformed the walls, making it feel as though we were in a luminous jungle or underwater on a coral reef.
Each hole brought a different challenge. We aimed into a volcano, through a dark tunnel and up a ramp to the right opening. The UV setting added to the challenge, sometimes making it harder to see the ball and encouraging us to trust our judgement.
Give it a go
Our trip to Alma Park's UV and adventure mini golf was a success. It combined entertainment, challenge and a sense of discovery. The UV course in particular made us feel as though we had stepped into another world.
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. When we asked, they shared tips for tackling the holes and helped us feel welcome.
For a leisure activity that combines fun with a challenge, I would recommend Alma Park's UV and adventure mini golf. It is an experience we will remember.
